its a boy.......... but wait.

monday septmeber 14 i went into labor i was at work and started having contractions, they were 15 minutes apart no big deal, i had been doing this on and off all weekend and was convinced i wasnt going into labor by myself. then on the way home they made their way down to 10 minutes then at home we were down to 7 and a few hours later decided we better make our way to the hospital. the contractions were now about 4 minutes apart and we had to drop addi off at the sitter and then make our way to the hospital. we got to the hospital at about 2 and they hooked me up to the monitors and i was contracting ever 3 minutes. i was glad that the timing was right, but i wasnt dialating past a 3 so they monitored for 4 hours , gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home. the morphine was horrible, it just made me super sleepy but owas still having contrations i reasted for while and then decided to go back to the hospital at about 11 that night, another shot of morphine and sent me home. this time i was determined to get this baby out. i was in alot of pain, i walked around, until my legs were shaking too bad and a t like 5 :30 i finally woke mike up to take me back, i was crying alot and i was going to loose my mind if they sent me home again , but they didnt i was dialated to a 5 , they gave me my epidural at 630 and i just kept dialating, my doctor got there at like a quater to 8 and broke my water and at 8:37 our baby was born , that part was way easy, 40 seconds of pushing and out came baby.
now some of you may have heard this already, they told us our baby was not a girl but a boy. we of course thought we were having a girl so we were shocked, 7 pounds 1 ounce 20.5 inches long. that evening our doc came in to check the baby, he came in and told me he wasnt sure if the baby was a boy or a girl ( very hard to hear) they have to do a bunch of chromosome tests and an ultrasound to see what might be going on . three days later we founf out she is not a boy but indeed a girl. it was heart breaking to have to call your child baby, and try to explain to everyone that your daughter has a birth defect . jaiden rae is what we named her, jaiden has a very rare ( 1 in 8000) disorder. its called congential adrenal hyperplasia. her adrenal glands dont work at all, your adrenal glands hel control your salt and the level of cortisol in your body, if it cant do this it causes androgens to be dispensed into the body . 10 percent of androgens are ubsorbed as testosterone, fine for a male but for a female who is over producing this horomone it causes an in balance her body. which caused her genitalia to be masculanized. she does have a uerus and a vagina its just over grown. she is one medication which she will take for life and she will evnetually have surgery to fix her outer uterine parts. she can go to the bathroom fine and is so much better now that she is on her medication. both michael and i have to be carriers of this gene, we have a 1 in 4 chance of having a baby with this disorder so future children ( if there are any ) will need to be planned carfully. she is healthy and beautiful. just a little information so people can understand her disorder. she wil be perfectly fertal when she is older .
thanks to everyone who is praying for her and everyone who has taken the time to understand her disorder we appreciate all this and we know heavenly father must have great plans for her and fr us, there is a lesson and a blessing here. love you all.

Every child comes with their own differences or challenges, I know you will be there for your new little girl and things will work out. I know with our kids with autism it makes for life to be a little different and sometimes you are thinking why me, while at other times they give you the chance to see just how much you are really blessed. As long as you love them and care for them they will be your joy and they will love you and everything is alright. You should feel very lucky to have such a wonderful husband and 2 cute little girls! Can't wait to see the new one. Stop by sometime on a Saturday morning for me to see!

I've been thinking about you guys constantly. I'm sorry it has been a rough start for all of you, but it sounds like you are handling things very well. I already told Arlene, but I will tell you as well: You are all in our prayers still and if there is anything at all that you need, I am here. We love you all and are excited that you have a sweet new baby! No matter what, you can't deny the sweet spirit that a new baby comes with. I can't wait to meet her!:)
